Coast 2 Coast bike ride (14-16 May 2010) for kidney patients

The Insurance Surgery is proud to support and sponsor a gruelling 174 mile 3 day bike ride from the West coast to the East coast of England following the path of Hadrian's Wall. The aim of this challenge is to raise money for the National Kidney Federation.

The aim for this unique challenge is to raise over £1000 for the National Kidney Federation. The National Kidney Federation is unique because, although there are a large number of kidney charities, the NKF is the only national kidney charity actually run by kidney patients for kidney patients.

The route of Hadrian's Cycleway takes you from coast to coast, cycling West to East starting at Bath House in Ravenglass on the edge of the Lake District. The route first takes you North, largely following the coast to the small coastal resort of Silloth on the Solway coast. The second day heads East following the line of Hadrian's Wall along it's entire length to Halwhistle and finally on day 3 to Wallsend in Newcastle Upon Tyne before completing the journey on the cliffs of Tynemounth. 174 miles of quiet roads and sleepy trails following one of our countries best collections of Roman fortifications that have stood proudly for over 2000 years.
