AIG plans to launch new private medical insurance products

AIG Direct is planning to launch a private medical insurance policy for small businesses in the next few months.

The insurer recently launched a new individual product, HealthChoice, which gives customers a cash sum if they require certain medical procedures. With HealthChoice, customers are able to either use the money to pay for treatment at a discounted rate at BMI Healthcare hospitals or use it to pay for treatment elsewhere. If they choose to be treated in the NHS, they can keep the money themselves.

The small business policy, and a new one for older individual customers, will both be based on HealthChoice.
