Riaz Agha

Training and experience

Riaz Agha graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine at King’s College London with distinctions and a First-Class Honours. From there, he went to the University of Oxford to undergo postgraduate education. 

Whilst at Oxford, Riaz was awarded the Clarendon Scholarship, which is presented to the top one percent of 20,000 graduate applicants. In 2018, he completed his doctorate at Balliol College at the University of Oxford with his thesis titled ‘Evidence-based Plastic Surgery’. 

Throughout his career, Riaz Agha has been awarded 50 prizes from prestigious organisations such as the Royal Society of Medicine and the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS). Mr Agha has also published an impressive 200 scientific papers that have been used as important resources in the medical community. This is shown by the 13,000+ citations of his research. He written multiple book chapters regarding nipple and breast anatomy, nipple sparing mastectomy and has contributed heavily to publications regarding fat grafting to the breast.

Clinical Interests

Mr Agha’s work is focused almost exclusively in the field of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, but also surgery in general. His academic work speaks volumes about his interest in the field, and he also founded the International Journal of Surgery (IJS) as well being a council member for the Section of Plastic Surgery at the Royal Society of Medicine.
