Young female snowboarders most at risk on the slopes

Travel agency, cheap.co.uk has used its recent travel insurance claims data to compile the most common ski injuries and those most likely to get hurt. Young, female snowboarders are the most likely to suffer injuries on the ski slopes.

Snowboarders are most likely to suffer from wrist or shoulder injuries and many injuries were a result of falling forward on snow with wrist sprains, wrist breaks, fractured collarbones and concussions topping the claims.

Skiers suffered from torn knee ligaments, leg muscle bruises and other knee related injuries.

The less experienced who are learning a new sport or activity are always the most at risk. Both skiing and snowboarding is an extreme sport and the risks can be extremely high.

The prevention of injuries is about not just the right safety equipment but also the manner in which you handle yourself on the slopes.
