BMI The Manor Hospital in Bedford hosted a fundraising day in June in support of British Heart Foundation with #WearItBeatIt.
Hospital staff participated in a number of activities to show support for this amazing cause including wearing red, holding a raffle, a cake sale and taking selfies to post alongside the national #WearItBeatIt campaign.
Executive Director, Rick Sanders said: “The cause is one that is close to many of our hearts as everyone here knows someone who has been affected by heart disease. The day helps raise awareness about heart conditions and encourage people to look after their hearts.”
The £80 raised will be going to The British Heart Foundation.
The British Heart Foundation rely on donations to continue to fund lifesaving heart research and support its aim of changing the lives of people affected by heart disease.
Over 400 people die from heart and circulatory disease in the UK every day. Raising money for Wear it. Beat it will help the British Heart Foundation to:
- Find treatments that transform the lives of people with heart disease
- Support over 1,000 pioneering research projects investigating all aspects of heart and circulatory disease
- Support BHF Heart Nurses to support and care for people
