For the first time in the UK, a new keyhole bunion procedure is being offered to patients.
The procedure, developed by Dr Bianchi of The Private Clinic of Harley Street, removes bunions using a surgical procedure that allows patients to walk immediately afterwards.
"By not using fixative devices such as screws, plates or wires, the new surgery allows the patient to get back to their everyday life quicker than other bunion removal procedures", said Dr Bianchi.
Exclusive to The Private Clinic, the bunion removal surgery is performed under local anaesthesia using keyhole techniques, meaning a shorter recovery time than other bunion removal procedures and no requirement to stay in hospital overnight. Mr Bianchi, an expert who has been practicing in this field for 15 years and carries out 1,200 bunion operations a year, boasts a 98% success rate following the operation.
