Ways to pay for private treatment at The Royal Marsden

There are many ways for patients to pay for their treatment at The Royal Marsden, including self pay, private medically insured, or sponsored patients. All patients seeking private cancer treatment at The Royal Marsden, whether insured or self-funding require a referral from a GP or specialist.

Self pay

The Royal Marsden welcomes patients who wish to fund their own treatment. An estimate of costs can be obtained directly from the hospital and payment is administrated by the Private Care Accounts Office. Deposits are required in advance of any treatment and any consultations and treatments will start after all funds have been cleared. Self paying patients can use the following methods to pay for their treatment:

  • Cash
  • Bank transfer
  • Debit/credit card
  • Banker’s draft

What's included

Insured patients

Patients with private medical insurance are advised to contact The Royal Marsden initially to confirm that the particular insurer is recognised, and then to check with their company that cover is sufficient to pay for all consultations and treatment. The Private Care Accounts Office at the hospital is happy to help with any insurance queries.
