North Downs Hospital is one of the leading private hospitals in surrey with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare for self pay, insured and NHS patients across a comprehensive range of hospital services.
Located within the M25, close to the centre of Caterham, the hospital opened in 1974 and currently has 15 bedrooms, all with en suite facilities and a daycase suite.
By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments. Most services at the hospital will require a GP referral in order for you to be seen, however some services are available without a referral such as physiotherapy, please contact our enquiries team for more details.
They accept both written and electronic referrals from GPs using either software hosted on their website for private referrals or the national Choose and Book system for NHS referrals.
The fully equipped ultra clean air theatre is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements and spinal surgery. The day unit is suitable for minor operations and endoscopy.
As well as providing a wide range of surgical procedures the hospital also provides private outpatient consulting rooms, an excellent physiotherapy department and an onsite radiology department, with CT and MRI scans being carried out at their sister hospital, Ashtead Hospital.
They have excellent levels of cleanliness and have effective infection control methods resulting in very low infection rates. All facilities are regularly inspected and approved by the Care Quality Commission.
Free car parking and disabled access is also available.
Consultants and nursing staff are highly experienced and have your care and comfort as their highest priority. During and after treatment, you will receive a standard of care which is second to none and all patients have the reassurance that theatre, paramedical services and a resident RMO is available 24 hours a day.
They ensure that every patient is treated with dignity and respect and all are involved in decisions made about every step of their journey. They encourage patient feedback in order to improve the service they offer and ensure they are delivering the best care they can. Their patient satisfaction remains consistently high, with over 90% of patients telling them they would recommend their services but they continue to look for ways of improving what they do.
