Intravenous fluoresceine angiography (IVFA) is a routine diagnostic procedure. It is used to view the retinal and optic nerve and blood vessels at the back of the eye. The patient is seated with the chin on a chin support. A small quantity of fluoresceine dye is injected into a vein in the arm or the hand. A camera takes the photographs. It is used for diabetic patients and other eye disorders.
