There are a variety of ways for patients at the Cardiff Bay Hospital to pay for their treatment, including self-paying and private medical insurance.
Patients have a choice of self pay methods. Payments can be made in two parts. The consultant will send the bill for an out-patient consultation. Tests and treatments are additional charges.
Alternatively, a fixed all-inclusive price may be available. This includes the consultation fee, operation costs, day room, drugs, nursing care, physiotherapy and any after care required. Patients should note that this does not include any personal expenses or tests/treatment that is not related to original treatment.
Patients must make sure that all-inclusive care packages are paid in full at least five days before admission. Seven days are required for patients that are paying by cheque.

Patients with private medical insurance can select their consultant, type of specialist care and healthcare facility they wish to attend.
All insured patients are required to obtain a GP's referral and their medical insurer must authorise the treatment beforehand.
