Job Cyriac: Consultant Paediatrician in Chelmsford
Dr Job Cyriac is Consultant Paediatrician and Clinical Lead for Paediatrics at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust. With a subspecialist expertise in non-invasive paediatric cardiology and paediatric nephrology, he provides private assessment and treatment for a broad range of childhood conditions at Springfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex.
Training and experience
Dr Job Cyriac did his higher specialist training in paediatrics at the Wessex Deanery. During this training he worked in the renowned paediatric cardiology department in Southampton University Hospital for nearly 2 years. In addition he also worked in paediatric nephrology, neonatology and other relevant paediatric subspecialties.
Prior to this, Dr Cyriac had worked in Ireland including Our Lady’s Hospital Dublin. During this period of specialist training he obtained Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and passed his MRCPI examination in paediatrics.
Dr Job Cyriac was appointed as paediatric consultant in Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust in Chelmsford in 2002. He is Clinical Lead for Paediatric Department and also has been appointed as Chair of Children's Board for MEHT. His subspecialities and interests are paediatric cardiology and nephrology.
Additional responsibilities include A&E liaison, lead for paediatric assessment unit and team leader for national hearing screening at Broomfield Hospital. He is an examiner for MRCPCH examinations and has Honorary Consultant contracts in Royal Brompton Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Treatments
Dr Cyriac is also especially interested in renal problems in newborn and children which includes management of antenatally-diagnosed uropathies, urinary tract infections, nephrotic syndrome, enuresis etc. For complex nephrology cases he networks with Great Ormond Street London.
Dr Cyriac has broad experience in managing children with all common paediatric and neonatal conditions like allergy, asthma, epilepsy etc.
Research interests
Dr Cyriac has published widely in a large number of peer reviewed journals, particularly in paediatric cardiology and general paediatrics.
