Shoulder arthroscopy

Mr Kumar is a highly experienced arthroscopic surgeon, using the technique to treat conditions such as tendon damage, subacromial impingement, loose ligaments and shoulder instability, or scarred, contracted and tightened ligaments, as in the case of a frozen shoulder.

Knee arthroscopy

Mr Kumar is skilled in knee arthroscopy, a minimally invasive form of surgery that involves introducing a thin fibre-optic tube (arthroscope) into the knee joint through a small incision. The arthroscope sends back internal images of the knee joint to a video screen, allowing him to make a detailed examination of the cartilage, bone, tendons and ligaments. Using specially designed instruments inserted through further small incisions, Mr Kumar is also able to carry out a range of therapeutic procedures, including removing loose pieces of bone or cartilage and repairing damaged cartilage.
