Rehan Haidry: Consultant Gastroenterologist in London
Dr Rehan Haidry is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist at University College Hospital in London, and also consults privately at The London Gastroenterology Centre, 41 Welbeck Street.
With practicing privileges at leading private hospitals in London, he is an expert in his field, specialising in upper gastrointestinal disorders such as gastro-oesophageal reflux, Barrett’s oesophagus, irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal cancers, as well as being an expert in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Training and education
Dr Haidry obtained his primary medical qualification from the University of London in 2001. He then went on to complete his comprehensive medical training at St Mary's Hospital in London, followed by advanced Gastroenterology training in North East London.
Following this, Dr Haidry embarked on a two-year research fellowship at UCLH in novel diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in the upper gastrointestinal tract including endoscopic treatment of Barrett’s Oesophagus and early cancers under the supervision of Professor Lovat.
He was then appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at the University College Hospital in London where he currently leads the Upper GI interventional endoscopic unit and is the director of endoscopy in the gastroenterology division.

Dr Haidry is available for private consultations at The London Gastroenterology Centre, based in renowned the Harley Street area. The London Gastroenterology Centre is a team of gastroenterologists who specialise in diagnosing and treating gut disorders in world class private hospitals and clinics in central London and Harley Street.

His research interests include the development of new methods for detecting and treating dysplasia (early cancer) in Barrett's Oesophagus and other pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract. He currently leads various national and international clinical trials in these fields.
In addition to exploring new methods for the early detection of cancers, he is also researching new procedures such as cryoablation. This cutting edge procedure has shown promising results by freezing away early cancers of the oesophagus, He was one of the first to perform this procedure in the UK. Dr Haidry also has particular inertest in exploring new endoscopic approaches for the treatment of patients with Type 2 Diabetes.
Each year Dr Haidry hosts a number of endoscopy workshops each year at University College Hospital. These live workshop focus on new endoscopic procedures and techniques.
Dr Haidry has published various research papers in some of the most esteemed journals on a broad range of GI topics, in addition to also having presented at many national and international conferences.
