Urethral stricture

Urethral stricture

Stretching of the urethra or the urethral opening for a poor urine stream caused by narrowing. A Urethrotomy involves inspection of the urethra and bladder, using a telescope, with cutting of the narrowed area using a knife or laser fibre.

However, urethral dilation for strictures is liable to cause additional urethral damage if performed inexpertly.
