Post herpetic neuralagia
Post-herpetic neuralgia is a complication of a herpes zoster attack. Chronic pain is felt along the cutaneous nerves and there is also distorted sensation along the same area. Pain could persist even after the herpes zoster has completely healed, and it can also recur in the same area. Pain could be intense and described as burning or shooting; there is also itching and increased sensitivity to painful stimuli.
