Polycythaemia

Polycythaemia is a condition where there is higher than normal concentration of red blood cells in the blood. The blood is thicker and thus unable to travel efficiently through the blood vessels. Symptoms can include headaches, blurred vision, redness of the skin, dizziness, discomfort in the abdomen, gout, itchy skin and confusion. The severity of symptoms can vary according to the underlying cause.
