Pertussis

Pertussis or whooping cough is a contagious infection of the lungs and the airways caused by a bacterium called Bordetella pertussis. There is persistent coughing that is very dry and irritating and which has a distinct whooping sound. There is also a runny nose, fever and vomiting. This cough could last for three months and may be passed from one person to another through tiny droplets in the air.
