Penile Injection therapy
If your erectile dysfunction doesn't respond to various treatments, such as PDE-5 inhibitors or a vacuum pump, you may be given a medicine called alprostadil. This is a synthetic (man-made) hormone that helps to stimulate blood flow to the penis. It is administered via an injection of Alprostadil (Caverject®) to produce a penile erection sufficient for intercourse.
