Oropouche fever, or yellow fever, is a serious infection caused by a virus and which is spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. This condition is fatal and it is estimated that 8 out of 100 people that suffer from yellow fever die from it. Symptoms include high fever, nausea and vomiting, headaches, muscle pains, backache and yellowing of the eyes and skin; hence the name yellow fever.
