Nasal polyp removal

The surgical procedure used to remove nasal polyps is known as endoscopic sinus surgery. Indications for surgical removal of nasal polyps are polyps not responding to medication and recurrent polyps. It is carried out under general anaesthetic. An endoscope is passed into the nostrils and a small debrider is used to remove the nasal polyps. Possible complications include infection and persistent bleeding from the nose.
