Measles is an infectious viral illness that is transmitted via tiny drops contained in the sufferers sneezes or coughs. When the virus is inside the body, it multiplies and spreads to the lungs and eventually all over the body. Symptoms include sneezing, stuffy nose, red eyes, high fevers, white to grey-coloured spots in the roof of the mouth and the throat. Measles is self-limiting but could be fatal in children and people with low immunity.
