A lower limb assessment usually includes a lower limb neurological examination to diagnose any nerve disorder related to the lower limbs. The assessment includes the examination of tone, power, function, reflexes and sensation. Common reflexes that are checked during assessment are ankle clonus, patellar reflex, ankle jerk, Romberg’s sign and plantar reflex.
