Leishmaniasis is an infection caused by a parasite. There are several kinds of Leishmaniasis infections and the primary host of this parasite is humans. In cutaneous Leishmaniasis there is the presence of ulcers on the skin and also on the mucous membranes of the nose and the oral cavity. There are around 12 million people infected with this condition and most could be asymptomatic, and are often only detected when serious symptoms are presented.
