Hearing aid provision in the UK is provided by the NHS. Sounds are amplified when using a hearing aid, but hearing is not restored to its normal level. There are several types of hearing aids. There are small models, hearing aids with improved amplification and some may either be placed behind the ear or inside the ear canal. There are digital as well a analogue types.
