Ethmoiditis (child)
Ethmoiditis is the inflammation of the ethmoid sinus in children that suffer from allergic rhinitis. Symptoms include runny nose, sore throat, sneezing and swelling of the mucus membrane of the ethmoid sinus which result in increased mucus secretions. The infection could spread to the eyeball and cause pus formation if not treated early. Physicians usually prescribe antibiotics to treat the infection and decongestants to reduce a cough and clear the airways.
