Endometriosis

Endometriosis

In endometriosis, fragments of endometrial lining of the uterus are found outside of the womb, and these cause a variety of symptoms like heavy periods, painful periods, lower abdominal pain and infertility. Women that suffer from endometriosis could also experience reduced energy and even depression. Although the actual cause of this condition is unknown treatment is symptomatic. Doctors may prescribe pain killers and for severe symptoms. Removal of the invasive endometrial tissue is also advised to improve the chances of pregnancy.
