This disease causes damage to the blood vessels of the skin. Patients suffer from swelling in the effected region. Most commonly the face is affected followed by the limbs and external genital organs. It can occur due to allergy to a substance, genetically or due to certain blood pressure lowering drugs (called ACE inhibitors).
