Acromegaly
Acromegaly is a hormonal disorder when the pituitary gland secrets an unusual amount of growth hormone in adult age. When this happens, bones increase in size, including those of your hands, feet and face. It usually occurs in middle aged people. If it occurs in childhood, it tends to cause extreme body growth. If not treated promptly, acromegaly can lead to serious illness and even become life-threatening.
