Most of us spend nearly nine hours a day engaged in media, technology or communications, but just a fraction of that time is spent talking on the phone.

5 times to pick up the phone:

  • If it’s going to be awkward
  • If you want to build a relationship
  • When you’ve scheduled it
  • If you’re negotiating
  • If it’s time to close the loop

There’s a distinction between sharing data, where one person talks at the other, and conversation “where there’s a coming together and more of an exchange,” Dr. Richard Graham, Technology Addiction Consultant Psychiatrist, Nightingale Hospital London told The Telegraph.
