Want to know more about DNA testing? David Hartshorne of DNA testing service Orchid Cellmark in Oxfordshire answers some common questions about the DNA testing process from choosing a lab to receiving the results.
Giving a mouth swab is painless and extremely simple. We will send the doctor a mouth swab and this swab is going to be wiped around the inside of your mouth to collect a few cheek cells before being transferred onto this collection card, and it is the collection card that will then be sent back to our laboratory for analysis.
At the appointment we will also need to collect some identification information from you, the doctor will fill out this form and you need to bring along with you a passport size photo of yourself and also sign the form to give consent for us to test the samples.
