Video Transcript: Are there issues of consent?

Paternity testing is a serious matter and it is vital that we have consent from all those who are being tested before we proceed with the analysis.

This means that if there is a young person under the age of sixteen we will require consent from either their parents or the person who has legal responsibility for the child.  It is actually now a criminal offence to take a sample for paternity testing without having consent.
