Tarek El Gamal: Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon in West Midlands

Mr Tarek El Gamal completed his higher surgical training in Orthopaedics at Alexandria University Hospitals, Egypt and was granted a Master degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2006. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma-Orth) in 2012 and was awarded a place on the prestigious foot and ankle training fellowship at The Wirral University Teaching Hospitals in 2014. In 2015, he was appointed as a Foot and Ankle Consultant at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals. He is currently practising as a Foot and Ankle Consultant at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He is a member of the Heart of England Foot and Ankle Society which aims to provide a multidisciplinary team approach for managing complex cases across the region. Mr EL Gamal participated in creating the surgical guide for J&J Minimally Invasive (MIS) Foot & Ankle surgery that is used globally as a benchmark for surgeons who wants to explore MIS Foot & Ankle surgery techniques. This is part of their Portfolio launch, where he will be chairing their upcoming  cadaveric laboratory courses. Mr El Gamal is a dedicated foot and ankle surgeon who treats all conditions, from simple to complex, with no problem being too small. He treats the full spectrum of foot and ankle disorders, and his philosophy is to maintain a pain free joint function and movement. His special interests include minimally invasive foot surgery, ankle and subtalar arthroscopy, arthroscopic fusion of the ankle and subtalar joint, hind foot minimally invasive correction of deformities, hind foot endoscopy and managing foot and ankle sports injuries.
