Miss Edwards earned her medical degree from Oxford University Medical School in 1992 and finished her advanced surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics at the West Midlands Deanery in 2003. Following her training, she completed a one-year fellowship focused on upper limb surgery at the esteemed Wrightington Hospital Upper Limb Unit.
In 2004, Miss Edwards began her first consultancy role in trauma and orthopaedics at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, where she initially managed both adult and paediatric upper limb cases. She transitioned to University Hospitals Bristol and Weston in 2017 to serve as the Deputy Medical Director.
Miss Edwards has actively participated in studies related to wrist fractures and conditions of instability, and is the author of an orthopaedics book targeted at general practitioners.
As of April 2022, Miss Edwards has taken on the role of Medical Director and consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Practice Plus Group Hospital in Shepton Mallet. She now exclusively performs surgeries related to the hand and wrist, as listed below. She also performs De Quervains release, thumb joint replacement surgery, finger joint replacement surgery and finger joint fusion surgery.
