Dr Michael Sinclair is a skilled Consultant Chartered Psychologist offering brief, solution-focused counselling for a broad range of emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties.  Based in the City of London and Harley Street, he is able to offer psychological coaching and stress management for individuals and organisations.


Dr Sinclair is Lead Consultant Psychologist and Clinical Director of City Psychology Group, based in the City of London (Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf) and Harley Street.  He is Chartered with, and is an Associate Fellow of, the British Psychological Society (BPS).  Dr Sinclair is a Senior Practitioner on the BPS Register of Psychologists Specialising in Psychotherapy and is a Member of the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors.

With clinical experience in both the NHS and private sector, Dr Sinclair has had the opportunity to treat a wide range of emotional difficulties and mental health problems in individuals, couples, families and groups.  He was Lead Specialist Psychologist in HIV/HCV co-infection at the Royal Free Hospital, London, before co-founding his private practice, City Psychology Group.

 

Dr Sinclair is an experienced clinical supervisor, playing a role in the training and supervision of other psychologists and psychotherapists.  He currently holds practising privileges at the Priory Hospital.  His research interests include brief psychological therapy, mental health in the corporate work place and the psychological impact of illness on the individual and family.  He contributes to the academic literature and has presented at national and international conferences.

Dr Sinclair is a specialist in brief psychotherapy. His aim is to empower clients to move on with their lives in the shortest possible time by helping them to apply new ways of coping using an integrative treatment approach. He is able to accept referrals from health professionals and self referrals and can offer private treatment for a broad range of emotional, behavioural and psychological problems, including:

He is able to provide cutting edge stress management training and seminars to corporate employees and managers.

He regularly features in the media as an expert in his field and has contributed commentary and psychological insight on a variety of topics for newspapers, magazines, and live TV and radio programmes. He is the author of 'Fear and Loathing in the City: a guide to keeping sane in the square mile' and 'The Little CBT Workbook: a step by step guide to gaining control of your life'. His latest book is entitled 'Mindfulness for Busy People: Turning Frantic and Frazzled into Calm and Composed'.
