Mr Waleed Edrees, MBBCh, MSc, FRCSEd, MD, FRCSEd (Gen.Surg), is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Medway NHS Foundation Trust in Kent. He qualified at Cairo University and undertook basic surgical training at Cairo and in the Gulf before coming to the UK in 1995.
Mr Edrees received higher surgical training at Belfast and Manchester, during which he spent two years engaged on vascular research and was awarded an MD by the Queen’s University of Belfast in 2001. He has practised as a consultant vascular surgeon since April 2006.
Mr Edrees has a one-stop specialised vascular clinic at Gravesham Community Hospital. He provides private treatment at the Spire Tunbridge Wells, Spire Alexandra, the Somerfield and Fawkham Manor Hospitals. He is a specialist in carotid surgery for stroke prevention and endovascular surgery, especially minimally invasive varicose vein surgery such as laser and VUNS Closure.
He has an interest in management and is currently the Governance Lead for the surgical directorate at Medway. He also plays a major role in patients' safety through his membership of the patient safety committee.
