Mr Richards is a specialist in treating patients with arterial and venous disease including varicose veins. He is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at University College Hospital London and additionally holds a academic post as Senior Lecturer in Surgery at University College London.
Mr Richards trained in medicine at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. After taking his surgical exams he undertook a higher degree (MD) before higher surgical training in Oxford. Mr Richards then completed fellowships at Nottingham, a pioneering centre specialising in minimally invasive vascular surgery, before spending a year in Melbourne, Australia where he trained in advanced endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) and angiography.
Mr Richards is one of the first surgeons in the UK to be able to offer both open and endovascular options to patients with vascular disease.
Mr Richards is pleased to offer the latest management options for varicose veins by foam sclerotherapy, and local anaesthetic VNUS ablation.
For arterial disease Mr Richards includes a team approach to the management of carotid, aortic, peripheral, and diabetic vascular disease, with focus on whole patient management. Mr Richards is available for advice and consultations at several locations in north and central England.
