Roy N Scott MD, FRCS is a consultant vascular surgeon specialising in the treatment of venous and arterial diseases. Mr Scott has more than 15 years experience as a consultant surgeon and has a particular  interest and expertise in modern treatment of varicose veins using minimally invasive techniques e.g. endovenous laser treatment (VenaCure EVLT™) and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy.

Venous disease and treatment

If you attend for advice regarding possible venous disease, your consultation will include a careful physical examination and will usually involve a duplex ultrasound scan to assess the size, shape, and function of the veins.

Most patients with varicose veins, spider veins and thread veins can now be treated under local anaesthetic and without the need for multiple incisions

Arterial disease and treatment

If you attend for advice regarding possible arterial disease, your consultation will include a careful physical examination and may show the need for special X-rays or scans. 

Most patients with arterial problems do not require operations, and all are likely to benefit from stopping smoking, taking regular exercise, and reducing body weight.
