David Murray is a Consultant Endovascular and Vascular Surgeon based in Manchester who specialises in minimally invasive 'keyhole' surgery for peripheral vascular disease including angioplasty and stenting, EVAR for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), carotid endartercetomy surgery for the prevention of stroke and VNUS for varicose veins.
Mr David Murray, BSc. MBChB MRCS(Ed) FRCS(Gen Surg) MD., graduated from St Andrew’s University and the University of Manchester in 1992 and 1995. He rotated through Surgical Training in the Northwest Region before entering Research in Vascular Biology at the University of Manchester.
He underwent Higher Vascular Surgical Training at Manchester Royal Infirmary, following which he was appointed Vascular and Endovascular Fellow at the John Hunter Hospital in Australia, gaining advanced experience in endovascular surgery for arterial disease, Aneurysms (EVAR) and vascular trauma.
He is currently Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Central Manchester University Hospital Trust

Minimally invasive 'keyhole' surgery for peripheral vascular disease including angioplasty and stenting and combined open and endovacular solutions to minimise surgical insult, allowing earlier mobilty and reduced hospital inpatient stay

EVAR for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), complex EVAR including fenestrated and branches Iliac stents when possible. Research has proven that this reduces mortality and complication in the short to medium term

Carotid endartercetomy surgery for the prevention of stroke, and conventional surgery and VNUS (Radiofrequency Ablation) for varicose veins.

Research interests in angioplasty, stenting and EVAR
David held the first appointment of a clinical research fellow to the UK Centre for Tissue Engineering. He currently maintains a research interest in peripheral arterial disease, angioplasty and stenting and EVAR for abdominal aortic aneurysm.
