Vinod Nargund: consultant urological surgeon

 Mr Vinod Nargund is a Consultant urological and Lead Uro-Oncological Surgeon at St Bartholomew’s and Homerton  Hospitals in London. In addition to general urology his special interests include early diagnosis and management of cancers of urinary tract (Kidney, bladder, prostate and testis), male infertility and erectile problems. He is specially trained in laparoscopy in relation to urinary tract cancer. He undertakes his teaching role as Honorary Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Queen Mary Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London.

Mr Nargund was trained in Urological Surgery in Belfast, Bradford and Oxford. Prior to his current post he was a Clinical Lecturer in the Nuffield Department of Surgery at the Oxford Radicliffe Hospitals and University of Oxford. He obtained  PhD  for his research on the biological behaviour of bladder cancer at the Cancer Medicine Research Unit, Universtity of Bradford.  His laparoscopy training fellowship was done in Erasme University Hospital, Brussels (Belgium) and Centre Oscar Lambret, Regional Cancer Centre in Lille (France).

 

His current research interests include early detection of genito-urinary cancers and angiogenesis. He has written original papers on bladder, prostate and testicular cancers and has also presented many scientific papers in national and international meetings. (He has also contributed to numerous chapters in books and written patient booklets. More recently he published a short text book on Urological Oncology along with Professors Derek Raghavan (Cleveland, USA)) and Howard Sandler (Mitchigan,USA)

 

Mr. Nargund has been an examiner for Royal College of Surgeons of England and University of London (undergraduate and postgraduate).

 

Mr Nargund sees his patients at Create Health Clinic (see below), London. In addition to urological consultation he runs specialised clinics on various conditions of genito-urinary tract.
