Experienced prostate cancer specialist who has undertaken a large number of robot-assisted prostatectomies (da Vinci prostatectomy). Special interest in advanced diagnostics such as PCA3 test and prostate mapping.
Mr Laniado has been a urology specialist and consultant in the Thames Valley and West London Region for the past five years, diagnosing and treating patients with prostate enlargement and cancer, urinary incontinence, and kidney stones and cancer. He specialises in rapid diagnostic techniques and minimally invasive treatments, having trained in medical school and university hospitals in the UK and the USA.
Mr Laniado’s time is dedicated almost completely to the clinical needs of his patients. He is actively involved in the training of other consultants and trainees in laparoscopic surgery on the kidney (nephrectomy, pyeloplasty) and prostate (radical prostatectomy), tapes and Botox for urinary incontinence, and the laser treatment of stones in the kidney.
In addition to practising urology at Heatherwood and Wexham Park, he performs laparoscopic cancer surgery at the Cancer Centre at the Royal Berkshire and Battle Hospitals. Mr Laniado’s clinical responsibilities include research and audit in the techniques we are developing.
With strong belief in continuous medical education and development, Mr Laniado not only teaches, but attends international courses and meetings to increase his knowledge, refine and introduce new techniques that are likely to be to the benefit of patients.
