Mr Christopher Eden, MBBS MS FRCS(Urol), trained at Guy’s and King’s College Hospitals between1980 and 1985. He has received the following awards and recognition:

Mr Eden is a pioneer of laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery of the urinary tract in the UK, having performed the first laparoscopic pyeloplasty in the UK in 1994, the first laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in the UK in 2000, and the first laparoscopic radical cystoprostatectomy in the UK in 2001.

Clinical interests

His clinical speciality is minimal access surgery of the urinary tract.

Research and publications

Mr Eden's primary areas of research are prostate and kidney cancer.  He has published widely and is the author of 57 scientific papers, 7 chapters and 1 book entitled 'Extraperitoneal Laparoscopic Surgery'.
