Mr McDermott MB BS, MS FRCS(Orth), FFSEM(UK), practises at London Sports Orthopaedics, situated at the London Bridge Hospital, in South East London. He is also Honorary Professor Associate, Brunel University School of Sport & Education.
Mr McDermott undertook his medical training at St Bartholomew’s Medical School and completed his specialist orthopaedic training in the North West Thames Deanery. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Ealing Hospital, but has now left the NHS and works exclusively as a private specialist in the independent sector.

Research interests
Mr McDermott is an Honorary Professor Associate at Brunel University in the School of Sport and Education. In 2003 he was awarded the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK) President’s Medal for his research into Meniscal Repair. In 2004 Mr McDermott was awarded a Master of Surgery Higher Degree for his work on ‘The Biomechanics of Meniscal Transplantation’.
