A nasal specialist with expertise in nasal and sinus disease, sleeping disorders and nasal structural problems.
Mr. Joe Marais, is a Consultant Rhinologist (nasal specialist), Nasal Plastic and ENT Surgeon based in North West London. He has a particular interest and expertise in nasal and sinus disease, nasal structural problems and snoring disorders.
Having graduated in 1985 from Johannesburg, South Africa, Joe Marais trained as a junior doctor at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London and as a Registrar and Senior Registrar in Edinburgh.
He has undertaken two subspecialty training fellowships in Texas, USA (Rhinoplasty) and Toronto, Canada (Neuro-otology and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) where he trained under some of North America's leading surgeons.
He set up and developed a Sleep Laboratory in Edinburgh in 1993 and has been involved with Sleep and Snoring management since then. He is now co-director of Snore-Tech, a private multi-disciplinary sleep apnoea and snoring clinic in Harrow, Middlesex.
An NHS Consultant based at Northwick Park Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital, he consults privately at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, Bishops Wood Hospital (Northwood) and at the Hillingdon Hospital Private Consultancy Rooms (Uxbridge).
Joe Marais lectures on several academic courses within the UK and internationally each year and has had 25 peer-reviewed papers published. He has a busy private practice which includes among his patients many medical, nursing and paramedical colleagues. A large number of his referalls are patients referred to him by other ENT specialist colleagues.
