Dr Roger W Bury BSc (Hons), MB ChB, FRCR is a general and interventional radiologist with a special interest in musculo-skeletal cross sectional imaging and cardio-vascular imaging and intervention.
Dr Bury is the President of the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (a special interest group of the Royal College of Radiologists) and sits on the Council of the British Cardiac Society.
He has developed a Regional Cardiovascular CT and MRI service and introduced EVAR (Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair) at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. As well as performing non interventional coronary assessment and cardiac magnetic resonance, Dr Bury is also involved in the planning of percutaneous aortic valve replacement.
In 2000, together with Dr Colin F Walshaw, he established Direct Medical Imaging and the Fylde Medical Clinic to provide a non hospital imaging service to both the NHS and private sectors. This facility provides direct access for General Practitioners to refer patients with musculo-skeletal complaints. The service of this clinic has recently been extended to include an open whole body MRI scanner providing a non claustrophobic environment for our patients.
Clinical interests
Dr Bury's interests include all forms of cross sectional imaging but with a special interest in cardio-vascular and muscular skeletal imaging. This includes non-invasive coronary CT and all other forms of cardiac CT and magnetic resonance imaging.
