Expert assessment and treatment of adult attention deficit disorder (ADHD) in Oxford, Windsor and Southampton
Characterised by symptoms of inattentiveness,
hyperactivity and impulsiveness, it is now recognised that attention
deficit disorder can continue from childhood into adolescence and
adulthood. Affected people, many of whom have not been diagnosed in childhood, may struggle with problems associated with organisation, self-regulation
and self-motivation, impacting negatively on employment and
interpersonal relationships and self-esteem.
Formerly Consultant Psychiatrist at the Maudsley
Hospital Adult ADHD National Referral Centre, Dr Cubbin is highly
experienced and skilled in the assessment and management of this
distressing and confusing disorder. A formal diagnosis of ADHD in
itself can help a client understand their behaviour and find the
motivation to effect change. Treatment options offered by Dr Cubbin are
geared to the individual and include developing suitable coping
strategies, psychological support and skills training, lifestyle advice
and, where appropriate, medication.
