Dr Lalitha de Silva: Private Consultant Psychiatrist in London and Berkshire

Dr Lalitha de Silva is a private Consultant Psychiatrist who treats all aspects of mental health. She has over twenty years of experience in both the NHS and in the private sector. She is recognised by all major private healthcare insurance companies and consults in London, Windsor and Reading.

Dr de Silva MBBS FRC(Psych) DPM is a fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is currently the Clinical Director of the Cardinal Clinic in Windsor. As well as being an experienced Psychiatrist within general mental health she has a specialist interest in eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and obesity) and women's mental health  (including post natal depression). In addition to being a specialist in Psychiatry, Dr De Silva has also been trained in General Medicine, Child Health and Accident and Emergency Medicine. She has previously been the Clinical Director of the Berkshire Health Care Trust for five years and the Manager of the Berkshire-wide eating disorders service.

Dr de Silva undertook her training in psychiatry at Charing Cross and St Georges Hospital Medical Schools in London, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr De Silva trained in eating disorders at the prestigious eating disorders Unit at St Georges Hospital in London and also specialises in adult psychiatry. Dr De Silva was a Senior Examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ final exam for doctors specialising in psychiatry. She was a Clinical Tutor for Junior Psychiatrists for five years and a Regional Advisor for the Continuing Medical Education of Senior Psychiatrists for five years. She is currently a Senior Tutor for medical students from University College Hospital in London.
