Performing reconstructive surgery both at the same time as breast cancer surgery and as a delayed procedure, he is dedicated to producing the best aesthetic results possible and receives referrals from all over the UK.

Reconstructive breast surgery in Leeds
Despite medical advances in the field, the mainstay treatment for breast cancer remains surgical excision of the affected area. Depending on the size and location of the tumour, the cancer can be treated using breast-conserving techniques that involve the removal of the affected area and a border of healthy tissue, or mastectomy where all the breast tissue is removed.
Mr Turton offers the full range of procedures to reconstruct the breast following breast-conserving surgery and mastectomy. Breast-conserving techniques can leave a noticeable defect that can be corrected using a number of oncoplastic reconstructive techniques, including implants, fat grafting and breast reduction. Mastectomy requires full reconstruction of the breast and a number of procedures are available dependent on the age, health, body build, lifestyle and wishes of the patient:
- Breast reconstruction using an implant
- Breast reconstruction using skin flaps from the back or abdomen
- A combination of the two
Surgical treatment of gynaecomastia
Gynaecomastia is an enlargement of the male breast as a result of an abnormal increase in glandular tissue, often due to a hormone imbalance, although other causes can include certain medical conditions, being overweight, excess alcohol consumption and the use of some illegal and prescription drugs. Often seen in teenage boys and older men, gynaecomastia is a benign condition, but can be embarrassing and distressing.
Mr Turton offers liposuction and male breast reduction surgery for cases of gynaecomastia that do not resolve after puberty, do not improve after medication or lifestyle changes, or have been present a long time and are affecting quality of life. Both procedures result in minimal scarring.
An expert in breast reduction surgery
Excessive breast tissue (macromastia) can be associated with a number of problems, including neck and shoulder pain, skin irritation and infection, social difficulties and embarrassment, and issues concerning clothes. Mr Turton is highly experienced in breast reduction surgery, removing excess skin, breast and fatty tissue to create smaller and more uplifted breasts.
