Dr Job Cyriac was appointed as paediatric
consultant in Mid Essex Hospitals NHS trust in Chelmsford in 2002. He is the
clinical lead for paediatric cardiology and nephrology for Broomfield hospital
in Chelmsford. Additional responsibilities include A&E liaison, lead for
paediatric assessment unit and team leader for national hearing screening at
Broomfield Hospital. He is an examiner
for MRCPCH examinations. He has honorary consultant contracts in Royal Brompton
hospital and Great Ormond Street hospital.
Expertise/treatments offered as a paediatrician in Essex
Along with general paediatric clinics Dr Cyriac runs
specialist non-invasive paediatric cardiology and nephrology clinics in both
the NHS and in the private sector.
He has special interest in non-invasive paediatric
cardiology with expertise in doing echocardiogram in babies and children. In
addition he has expertise in evaluating paediatric electrocardiogram (ECG), 24
hours tapes and event recorder etc. For complex cardiac cases he networks with
cardiac department at Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
Dr
Cyriac is also especially interested in renal problems in newborn and children
which includes management of antenatally diagnosed uropathies, urinary tract
infections, nephrotic syndrome, enuresis etc. For complex nephrourology cases
he networks with Great Ormond Street London.
Other Paediatric clinical and research interests
Dr Cyriac has broad experience in managing children with all
common paediatric and neonatal conditions like allergy, asthma, epilepsy etc.
He
has published widely in a large number of peer reviewed journals, particularly
in paediatric cardiology and general paediatrics.
Qualifications/career history
Dr Cyriac did his higher specialist training in paediatrics
in Wessex deanery. During this training he worked in the renowned paediatric
cardiology department in Southampton University Hospital for nearly 2 years. In
addition he also worked in paediatric nephrology, neonatology and other
relevant paediatric subspecialties.
Prior to this he has worked in Ireland including Our Lady’s
Hospital Dublin. During this period of specialist training he obtained Diploma
in Child Health (DCH) and passed his MRCPI examination in paediatrics.
