He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in July 2003, entered on to the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council. In between his fellowships to the United States and France he spent a period as a Locum Consultant at
Charing Cross and
Ravenscourt Park Hospitals. He was then appointed as a Substantive Consultant at the Royal Bournemouth and Poole General Hospitals and spends his time split between London, Surrey and Dorset. He aims to provide the latest trusted treatments.
Specialist fellowships
During the first half of 2004 Paul undertook a Travelling Fellowship around the United States during which time he visited several leading American Centres in Sports Medicine and minimally invasive joint replacement surgery including:
During the second half of 2004 Paul was Clinical Fellow at the elite Centre de Chirurgie Orthopedique, Bordeaux, France. Paul worked with Dr Phillippe Colombet MD and Dr Michel Allard MD gaining specialist experience in:
- Arthroscopic and Minimally Invasive Sports Medicine Surgery as well as routinely performing joint replacement surgery using computer guided navigation technology.
- Working bilingually in the French Healthcare system.
Paul has also undertaken other Specialist Visits to Budapest to vist Professor Laslo Hangody MD the internationally renowned surgeon who developed the cartilage repair technique of Osteochondral Autologous Transplantation.
Paul also visited the University of Chicago to visit Dr Richard Burger MD as well as Mark Hartzband at the Hartzband Institute, Hackensack, New Jersey.
