Joining the Consultant Staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in 2004, Mr Verity specialises in the management of eyelid, lacrimal, orbital and eye socket disorders (also known as ocular ‘adnexal’ disease’).
His qualifications include a medical degree and MA from Oxford University, Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth), an MD in immunogenetics from the University of London, and advanced subspecialty oculoplastic training at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

With expertise in all aspects of oculoplastic disease (eyelid, lacrimal, orbital, and socket diseases), Mr Verity manages the following conditions:
- Watery eyes
- Uncomfortable and ‘dry’eyes
- All eyelid disorders (cysts, droopy lids, lax lids, ectropion, etc)
- Thyroid eye disease: medical management, eyelid surgery and orbital decompression
- Causes of ‘bulging’ eyes (exophthalmos) and orbital inflammatory disease
- The painful or blind eye, artificial eyes, removal of an eye, and socket care.
Teaching and publications
In addition to his clinical practice, he publishes widely in the field with over 70 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He trains ophthalmic doctors and lectures regularly on oculoplastic disease in the UK and abroad. In 2009 he was appointed Editor in Chief of Orbit Journal, and in 2010 was elected Treasurer of the rapidly evolving British Oculoplastic Surgery Society.
